My Brother Is 24
25 will be pretty interesting.
My brother celebrated his 24th birthday last week and I feel like I didn't take as many photos as I should've.
The day started out pretty tame, but a tradition I've upheld for the past 5 or so years is giving him a bottle of liquor in a brown paper bag labeled "Birth".
It was a bottle of "Dos Maderas 5+5" as well as a bottle of some "Tequila Rose". I'll probably do better next year.
For dinner, we headed to a steak place. With some great food that I neglected to take pictures of, for appetizers we got lobster macaroni and cheese, truffle fries, asparagus, brussels sprouts, and probably some more food. I had a dry-aged New York strip steak smothered in peppercorns for my main course and I tried to eat all of the peppercorns, but I barely managed to get through half of them.
Back at the house, we cut a small cake for my brother, and I ended up making quite a few passionfruit mojitos for the family. The cake was pretty good for storebought and I wanted to see if I could make some mojitos better than the restaurant. I think I did a good job.
That ended off the night, but we had brunch plans the following day. We ended up at the restaurant at around 1PM and of course, you know we had to do the bottomless mimosas. This was a super cool restaurant that does some great Korean fusion food. With some even better truffle fries, calamari, some wonderful wings, and life-changing blue cheese, this place is becoming a regular haunt for us.
For my main course, I had a breakfast burrito that had eggs, bacon, avocado, french fries, and gochujang aioli, with a side of potatoes. We ended up going through 13 carafes of mimosas in 90 minutes. We tipped the waiter really well.
Did I mention that this place is on a dock? We were here back in early December and despite the weather being kind of cool then, it's been warming up for Spring. Naturally, we wanted to take some photos so I may or may not have broken some trespassing laws for these pictures.
It was a nice day and our cousin's place was only 10-15 minutes away so we headed back to keep the good times going. With a bunch of beers, some cup pong setup, and the grill going, we played cup pong for a good long while while chilling in the yard.
It was a very fun couple of days and we ended up going home pretty late.
I can't for the life of me remember what music we were playing either night, so I'll leave you with some more punk music that's been on loop for a bit.
Night~
