A Day Trip To Beacon

A Day Trip To Beacon

A Day Trip To Beacon
Meg Webster, Moss Bed, King, 1986

It's been a while since I took a day trip anywhere so I jumped at the invitation to see a "Live Art/Music Installation" by Zed Star Seven. With the performance in the evening, I took the opportunity to visit the museum in town, "Dia Beacon".

The museum is an amazing place with all sorts of modern art, but I was lucky enough to stumble in on the day they were showing off the new exhibition by Meg Webster.

My favorite by far was Moss Bed, King but there are still a ton of other amazing works from her and the dozens of other artists I saw in there.

Richard Serra makes you feel so small.

After a quick stop to grab something to eat, I took a lovely little walk up and down Main Street. I forgot how much I loved walking around in Beacon, and even in the dreary winter, it's still so much fun.

The night brought me to The Yard where Zed Star Seven was performing.

It was a great show, and I can't thank the band enough for inviting me out. I took a bunch of photos of some of the artwork that was for sale and being shown off, but man I really wish these were better.

Ended the night off by blasting Sweet Pill on the drive home.

Night~
